Out and about in Seoul
Autumn in the city. Out and about in Seoul on a Sunday afternoon. Continue reading Out and about in Seoul
The house where Bear lived
This post dedicated to my first Korean “compartment”, i.e a small studio apartment, apparently big enough for one. I spent the last seven months living there, enjoying myself as much as possible. I’d also like to add, that I now have a bigger place which will see me through for the rest of my stay in South Korea. The only other things that fit into … Continue reading The house where Bear lived
Babushkas rule the world
This is my grandma, or babushka as I prefer to call her. She is in her 80’s and lives in a one bedroom flat in Minsk, Belarus. When I think of her, first things that spring into my mind are how neat and tidy she is, her red lampshade in the living room, old school phone and her enormous supply of pickled veg and jams. … Continue reading Babushkas rule the world
Sheep cafe
Let’s face it, cat cafes are so last year. Thanks Nature cafe in Seoul, South Korea. How to get there: Hongik University station, line two. Continue reading Sheep cafe
Moroccan Adventure
by Andrey As I sit in the hotel lobby waiting for my airport shuttle, I thought why not jot down a few points on my week here in Morocco. Morocco, a country of over 35 million people and the most westerly of the North African counties. In short hot, dry, rocky and lots of people! My trip started in Marrakesh, a bustling market city. Head to … Continue reading Moroccan Adventure
Japanese oddities
Let’s just face it – Japan is an odd place. Yes, it is one of the most developed countries in the world, yet most of the infrastructure, especially public transport and points of sale look rather dated. Plus there are so many quirky things, you need to walk around with your eyes closed to not get amused. Here is an example how to use a … Continue reading Japanese oddities
Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?
The website llamafont.com serves only one purpose – anything you type is changed into llama characters. Because, well, why wouldn’t you want to write something in llamas? They make everything better. If only there was a website where you can write in bears. Again, an extremely “useful” thing I can’t wait to try. It kind of goes together with llamas. Think llamas, alpacas, ponchos and pompoms. I am … Continue reading Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?
Japan
I’m leaving Japan with a bag of mixed feeling. The most overpowering one is fear. I don’t like to fly, and right now, sitting on the plane I want to blend in with my seat and just pretend that it is all ok. So making a few travel notes mainly serves as a distraction for the next hour and a bit. Fingers crossed for no more … Continue reading Japan
The book club – Marching Powder
By Andrew I wouldn’t say that I am a big books fan, but then even for the non frequent reader there is always something when it comes to books recommended by others. Enough to wet the appetite with curiosity perhaps? I’m also not really a big fan of book reviews.. Everyone’s mind works in different ways and what’s the point of picking up a book … Continue reading The book club – Marching Powder
Sokcho and Seoraksan National Park (설악산국립공원)
Living in a huuuuge city like Seoul has its challenges. Every now and then you start craving fresh air, despite the fact that in my case, I get to cycle to work along the river on regular bases. So one Saturday morning, my friend and I escaped to the country. Escape is a strong word, since it took us a whooping five hours to cover … Continue reading Sokcho and Seoraksan National Park (설악산국립공원)
